New Dial Telephones Placed In Service In Paris Idaho
The Paris Idaho exchange switched to the latest dial system yesterday afternoon. The first call was made by Ralph Sommers editor of The Paris Post to the Salt Lake Tribune announcing the inauguration. Officials from Boise Pocatello and Montpelier attended as dial equipment was installed in the Hotel Paris basement serving Paris Lanark Liberty Bloomington St Charles Fish Haven Garden City and Ideal Beach with nearby towns to receive phones this spring. The Paris Drug Co. named collection agency and urged patrons to pay bills there.

FSCC Extends Wheat Purchase Through May 15 in Idaho
Federal Surplus Commodities Corporation will buy loan wheat through May 15 or until area quota is reached. Donald Budge, Bear Lake county supervisor, says the program aims to repurchase 2,600,000 bushels of loan wheat from counties south of Idaho County. Approved agencies must purchase offered loan wheat up to the national limit, paying producers 1.5 to 4.5 cents above loan value.

Boy Rescued From Ditch by 11 Year Old Kay Allred
Kay Allred rescued two year old Larry Nelson from a likely drowning in an irrigation ditch near the Allred home. Larry stood on the ditch bank throwing rocks when he lost balance and fell in. Kay, returning from school at noon, jumped into the water and pulled him to safety on the bank.
