Two Bear Lake district residents were among more than 100 Utah Power and Light employees honored at the Salt Lake City Veterans banquet. Karl Gilgen of Lifton pumping plant received a jeweled pin for 35 years of service. William Danks of Montpelier, joining the Veterans club in 1943, was awarded a two year pin by President George M. Gadsby as more than 400 veterans and partners from Utah Idaho and Wyoming attended. L. W. Nims led as toastmaster.

The Paris auction for the American Red Cross netted just over $100 toward the $2,100 chapter quota. Items from Irl Nye of Liberty drew $76, with hay rack $27 and wagon box $40 bought by Clarence Passey. Other bids included $9 for double-trees and $16 for a hay load.
