A nominating meeting is set for Thursday March 3 at 3 p.m. in Fielding High Auditorium to select candidates for Mayor and four council seats from the four wards. Mayor Weldon Grandy and councilmen Clifford Minson Wyler Chauncey Mattson and Keith Warner will be on the ballot. incumbents say they are not available for renomination. City election is scheduled for Wednesday April 23 with polls open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Weed control meetings planned in Rich County

Clarence Bolton Conda worker dies of heart attack
Clarence Bolton 60 longtime Anaconda Co employee and Conda night watchman died of a heart attack during his midnight to 8 am shift. He was found near a checking station by Deputy Sheriff Herb Waltern and Coroner Ted Allen. Bolton born Paris Idaho December 23 1897 married Carrie Briscoe of Bloomington in 1920 married in Salt Lake Temple 1930. Surviving wife five sons and daughters 139 grandchildren and several siblings. Funeral Monday at 1 pm Conda Ward Chapel.

Cache Valley Breeders Association Stage Annual Meet
Dairymen from Cache Valley attended the CVBA annual meeting at Glyde Park Utah. The cooperative started December 4 1948 with nine dairymen and has grown to 85 units across five states. Membership rose from 300 in 1948 to about 15000 and cows served from 6866 to 73000. New headquarters on Highway 91 near Logan will support more sire testing and sampling. Feeds butterfat per two year old heifer increased from 400 to 600 pounds. Lynn Budge of Dugway arrived to visit his parents Taft and Mrs Budge.
