Lighting School Presented by Utah Power and Light

Miss Evelyn Hansen Home Service Director of Utah Power and Light Co will lead a lighting school on March 29 at 1 30 pm at A J Winters School. Sponsored by Bear Lake County Home Demonstration Council and Extension Service the program covers basic eye saving lighting features for home and study use. Hansen has held roles from Home Service advisor to director and is a Utah State University graduate who taught home economics at Topéle High School.

An open house will be held at the home of George Ward on April 1 to celebrate his 80th birthday. Friends and relatives are invited to call between 2 and 4 pm with no gifts requested.

Fielding Students Attend Pocatello Youth Convention

Four Fielding students Rodney Vallen tine Charles Piggott Eleanor Rich and Pamela Grimmett plus adviser Mr Wilkes attended a Pre Legislative Youth Convention in Pocatello February 10. They will also attend the Idaho State YMCA Youth Legislature in Boise April 14-15. The convention was led by Clark B Carlile associate professor of speech with Gerald Olson educating on drafting bills and presenting them to a legislative body. Principal speaker was George De Hoff president of Magic Valley Christian College Albion speaking on freedom and economic well being.

Power Company Plans Price Investigation Across Utilities

Utah Power and Light joins 78 other electric utilities in probing how price fixing by major manufacturers may have affected operations. President E. M. Naughton says a committee will study prices charged by firms recently sentenced for price fixing and assess costs if the conspiracy had not existed. The process will be joint, with findings shared to help each utility protect its interests.

Felding FFA Holds Annual Members Banquet

The Felding Chapter hosted its annual FFA Parents and Sons Banquet on March 16 in the high school gym, serving about 165 guests. President W. K. Matthews spoke as a ladies quartet performed, with Cheryl Crawford giving a reading and Jay Callister addressing attendees. Spartanettes End Season Activities at District Tournament

The Spartanettes closed a busy season of drills and entertainment at football and basketball games with a halftime performance during the Fielding Spartans versus Bancroft game on March 3. Led by Eleanor Rich and Karen Hymag, the group prepared intricate marching routines and provided school and community entertainment while re organizing from Pep Club to a separate unit with its own constitution.

The Idaho Division American Cancer Society holds the Montpelier County conference at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier High School auditorium for volunteers and workers. Freshman Nurses Take Oath at Ricks College

Misa Marie Ward of Paris was among 45 freshmen who received their caps and took the nurses oath in a ceremony at Ricks College. Cameras flashed as student nurses ascended the stage to accept their caps, then repeated the nursing pledge. Gaye Lynn Goodman sang a solo as Dr. Delbert W. Lindsay presided and Dr. M. F. Rigby spoke as Ricks College physician and board member.

Sheriff Skinner Attends Idaho Law Enforcement Session

Sheriff Cliff Skinner joins police and conservation officers at the Idaho Law Enforcement Training Academy held this week at Idaho State College. A farewell service was held in Garden City on Sunday night March 19 for Elder Clinton Tremelling son of Mr and Mrs Clinton Tremelling before his departure to the Southwest Indian Mission.
