Concrete dawn for new plains towns by 10 years
Randoph Evans, New York architect, predicts a wave of new cities across America to replace aging disease traps. A Commerce Department survey shows 39 percent of 2,438,907 buildings in 64 cities are in good condition while 15 percent need major repairs and 44 percent minor repairs. The plan targets replacing deteriorating urban housing and addressing obsolescence. A used car ad and a small community meeting are noted in nearby items.
