Origin of Navajo Indians and the First People
Based on Navajo mythology retold by Norene Piggott, the tale recounts how the Ant People witness the birth of First Woman and First Man, the creation of the sun and moon, the emergence from underworlds, and the advent of Coyote and the Four Wind spirits. It follows their journey westward, floods, the formation of mountains, and the birth of twin sons of the Turquoise Woman who confront the Sun and his enemies.
