Coordination for Bear Lake emergency plan formed with Utah teams
Last week in Garden City a Utah State Park representative and Bear Lake County officials drafted emergency procedures for Bear Lake Idaho Utah. Sheriff Monson's Jeep Patrol and Utah Parks Department boats and divers would assist in search and rescue. A Utah boat aided three drifted 15 year old boys at North Beach amid six foot waves. tourists later rescued the youths before the Sheriff arrived. The boat trip lasted about three and a half hours with high waves reported throughout.

Rose to Run Another Year on Portland Rose Rail Service

Watersheds Group Meets in Montpelier
The Small Watersheds Committee of the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts met in Montpelier to discuss watershed programs. About 40 attendees from southern Idaho toured Montpelier Creek Dam Site and Bear Lake High School area, hearing plans from Phil Whiting on construction issues and reviewing a memorandum of understanding between the Idaho Department of Reclamation and the association.

One hundred five young men from 24 Idaho counties attended the 1968 University of Idaho Conservation Camp at Alpine 4-H Camp. The program featured classes, laboratory work, field study on multiple use of resources, and tours of Palisades Dam and Weeks Brothers Ranch.

Ora Kay Nye, 57, died from injuries in a head on collision near Kamas Utah on June 23. Funeral services were held at 1 00 p m at Evanston Third LDS Ward Chapel in Evanston Wyoming. Burial 4 30 p m Paris City Cemetery. Nye survived by his wife and several sons.

The Red Cross blood drawing at Bear Lake on Wednesday drew 153 donors. Twelve were rejected and 141 pints were collected, nearing the 150 pint quota, following a busier January when 180 pints were donated.
