Judy Erickson daughter of Mr and Mrs Don Erickson of Fish Haven won the Bear Lake Ranger Queen contest at the Paris rodeo grounds, judged by Cliff Svaneveldt and Lowell Thomas. Attendants are Mrs Lowell Williamson of Montpelier and Sheryl Orr of Paris. A large crowd attended as 4-H officers meet in Montpelier June 25 for training at City Hall.

Last Tuesday at 12 45 a m on Highway 89 near Idaho 36 in Ovid Charles F Parker 21 of Montpelier overturned a Bear Lake Motor Co bus. He was cited for failing to heed the basic rule after skidding and over correcting. Passenger injuries reported to Lewis. Damages estimated at 595 dollars by Bear Lake County Sheriff's Dept.

Calder Rites Conducted for David Calder
Funeral services were held for David Calder who died June 10 from a heart ailment at the Garden City LDS Chapel. Elder Eugene Erickson led the home prayer, with Mattie Price on music and Bp. Mark Hodges giving opening remarks. The service featured remarks by L Burdette Pugmire and the Montpelier Male Quartet, plus tributes from Lennie Smith and Leonard Perkins. Interment followed at Garden City Cemetery with pallbearers Lynn, Kay, Fred, Robert, Ray Lutz, and Michael Hansen, all grandsons. Bear Lake Hot Springs noted for a photo of an animal. Wayne Keetch described a mature male specimen.
