The Bear Lake County Wool Pool Committee sold about 150000 pounds of wool at 49.57 cents per pound, beating Idaho prices but below last year’s 64.29 cents. Buyers included Elliott and Co and Greer and Co among others. sale planned for June 15 and 16.

Former Bloomington Resident Payne Dies at Downey
Joseph Burton Payne 87, a Bloomington native, died after a short illness at a Downey hospital. He was born August 30, 1879, in Bloomington, married Margaret Alice Briscoe January 18, 1907, and lived in Lava Hot Springs nursing home. Surviving children include Wilton, Bancroft, Fawn Pattbanks Alaska, Tracy St Paul. daughters Mary Korous Salt Lake City Zola Jarvis Ogden Alice Porter Lava Hot Springs. 26 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren. brothers R A Payne Midvale Ernest Bloomington Lott Georgetown Ascel Ogdens Utah. service held Bloomington Ward Chapel.

Commissioners appoint Gary Williams Bear Lake County prosecutor
In a special session the Board unanimously named Gary Williams as Bear Lake County Prosecuting Attorney. Williams, formerly of Grace now in Albuquerque, NM, accepted the appointment by telephone. He holds an LLB from Samford University School of Law, is Idaho Bar, and will arrive next week pending District Judge Francis J. Rasmussen's approval.

Margery S Grose Dies After Illness at 58
Margery S Grose, 58, died after a lengthy illness. She was born June 26, 1908 in Fish Haven, Utah, married Roland Thomas Grose September 3, 1932, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a registered nurse and held leadership roles in several organizations. She is survived by her husband, two children, six grandchildren, her mother, and multiple siblings.
