Roghaar Named Coalville Schools Superintendent
Ralph Roghaar former Fielding High School principal will become Superintendent of Coalville Schools effective June 1. He has 22 years in education with prior posts in Emerson School Malad Elementary Paris and service in the Navy. The death of Wilson Weaver, 79, in Bennington is reported as a self inflicted case. funeral services set for Friday at the Bennington LDS Chapel.

Walter H. Lewis to Celebrate 94th Birthday in Paris
Paris resident Walter H. Lewis will observe his 94th birthday on May 27. An open house at his home will be held Sunday May 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. He is believed to be the oldest native Bear Laker in the area. Relatives are invited to call.

Greg Long Receives Purple Heart for Vietnam Wounds
HM-3 Gregory R. Long son of Rodney Long formerly of Ovid received the Purple Heart for wounds suffered with the 4th Marines in Vietnam in February. He is attached to the Fleet Marine Force providing medical service at Marines. Long has been in Vietnam since October 1966 and is recovering at a battalion first aid station from wounds from Operation Pace IV in the DMZ.

Rich County Utah voters overwhelmingly defeated a proposed 450000 bond and consolidation of county secondary schools. Totals show Garden City Laketown Randolph Woodruff and other communities voting against the measure with a total negative count of 264.

Field Day at Emerson School Honors Top 8th Grade Scholars
Emerson School in Paris held its annual field day and awards assembly last Friday. Awards went to the top eighth grade academic record holders and to high scorers in the Junior Pentathlon and winners of each Pentathlon division. Scoring used a point system based on size age and weight, with a 299 or below junior division and 300 or more senior division.
