Last Friday Mrs Wayne Humphreys of Paris Mrs LaMar Roberts of Liberty Mrs Mary Jo Allen of Montpelier and Mrs Connie Peterson of St Charles traveled to Brigham City to dine with Elaine Windley They attended a minstrel show in Montpellier on Monday night with Eldon Webb and family Angus Porter Jesse Scheidegger Glen Ward and others.

The South eastern Idaho District FFA held a State Farmer and Coop Contest at Fielding High School on Saturday February 11. Fielding entrants for State Farmer included Craig Vallentine Carl Beck Kelly Matthews Jaren Pugmire Reed Matthews and Weston Parker. Spencer Stucki led Coop with a tie clasp. Passing State Farmer requires 2500 project points a 65 percent test score on Constitution and Parliamentary Procedure at least $500 in project earnings and two years FIA membership. four Fielding competitors advanced to state committee review.
The Fielding FFA chapter has 48 members with Allen Stephens as adviser. Officers include Kelly Matthews president and Tarrel Palmer vice president, among others. The National FFA has 378000 members and 9000 local chapters. National FFA Week coincides with George Washington's birthday. Washington promoted contour planting crop rotation and soil conservation at Mount Vernon.
Farmers Home Administration adds 50 million dollars to loan pool to support farm housing needs. County supervisor Webster C. Maughan said the funds will ensure a steady credit supply for eligible farm families through the fiscal year. Loans offer 4 percent interest and up to 33 year repayment. Applications are filed at the local FHA office.
The first AA basketball tournament games will be held at Bancroft on Thursday February 23 at 7 30 p m featuring Paris versus Grace and Bancroft against Soda Springs The second day games move to Montpelier gym Friday February 24 with Fielding High School hosting The order of matchups depends on Thursday results at Bancroft.

Fielding Chapter held a public speaking contest to select finalists for the district event. Participants included Wyndon Ward and Chad Pugmire who later spoke in class. Chad Pugmire won and will represent the chapter at the Marsh Valley district contest on March 1.
The Fielding Chapter of Future Farmers of America held a Fun Night in the High School gym with about 40 members. Four teams competed in basketball, races, shot put, and discus. Martin Ward’s team won the basketball contest followed by pie and ice cream refreshments.
Funeral services were held Friday February 19 for Mrs. Bertin Ann Lewis Wallentine at the Paris chapel with a large roster of speakers singers and pallbearers. Burial followed in Paris cemetery under Matthews Mortuary Montpelier.
Mr. and Mrs. Delmas Kearl of Laketown announce the engagement of their daughter Audrey Kearl to Clark R. Draper of Delta Utah. Audrey is a Utah State University senior majoring in elementary education. Draper is a USU senior and an officer of Delta Phi fraternity and president of the Institute Council. A June wedding is planned.
Marine Pvt. Gerald L. Wallentine of Paris departed San Diego February 1 aboard the USS General Mann with the Third Battalion First Marine Regiment for a tour with the Third Marine Division in Okinawa. The unit rotates from Camp Pendleton to maintain esprit de corps during overseas duties.
