Funeral Rites in Bloomington for Mrs Ellen Thornock
Funeral services for Mrs Ellen Nellie Thornock age 82 widow of Joseph B Thornock were held at the Bloomington Ward chapel December 16 with Bishop Alfred Hart in charge. Burial followed. She was born in Portsmouth England and moved to Bloomington as a child. Survived by three children two brothers sixteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

Day Dates Of District Schools Are Announced
Bear Lake county district schools will be discontinued Friday December 20 for the Christmas week. They reconvene Monday December 30 and resume classes for New Year’s Wednesday January 1, opening again Thursday and Friday of that week. Superintendent A J Winters says the shortened holiday is to meet the 172 day requirement for nine months of school to qualify for state apportionment.

Fielding HI Drops Fourth Game to Aberdeen Tigers

Pfc Cardon W. Willis, son of Mr and Mrs Elijah C. Willis of Laketown, took part in Autumn Rain a week long Western Army field communications training exercise in southern Germany. Willis entered the Army in August 1956 and trained at Fort Bliss Texas. He served at Fort Benning Georgia before overseas duty. A 1950 graduate of North Rich High School, Willis attended Utah State University prior to enlistment.
