Forest ranger sets December Christmas tree pickup trips

Jay B Hann released a schedule for National Forest Christmas tree gathering with canyon trips on December 12 Fish Haven, December 16 St. Charles, December 14 Paris, and December 15 Pole canyon. One or two men with teams from each nearby community will haul trees for those unable to go, with stumpage rates from 25 cents to 2 dollars and guidance available from Panis Idaho forest ranger.

The infant son of Mr and Mrs Mehl Whitney of Afton Wyoming is listed as having fourteen living ancestors. Among them two are J P Hemmert and his wife of St Charles. Emma Davis Hemmert formerly of Bennington and eight living great grandparents are named. Mrs Whitney is Cleone Hart, granddaughter of J P Hemmert now of Afton and Isaac Bart of Ogden Utah, and daughter of Harry Hart of Afton.

Julia Nibley Dies in Utah at 77

Mrs. Julia Budge Nibley, widow of Charles W Nibley and a longtime L D S church worker, died Monday in Salt Lake City at age 77. Born November 11 1861 in Farmington she became Paris Utahs first telegraph operator and postmistress. She lived in Logan and Salt Lake City since 1935 and is survived by four daughters two sons twenty one brothers and sisters and many grandchildren. Burial was in Logan Utah Cemetery with services at the Salt Lake City chapel.

New Library Hours Announced For Weekdays And Saturdays

The public library sets new hours from 4 to 5 p m Monday through Friday and from 2 to 5 p m on Saturdays. The change expands weekend access and standard weekday service.

Paris Railway Conductor Dies After Heart Attack

Fred W. Hamerick aged 66, conductor on the Paris branch for eight years, died of a heart attack after a 37 year railroad career. He was born in Iowa and leaves a widow Pearl Hamerick and two sons, Edward of Kemmerer and Ray of Montpelier. Funeral services tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Paris.
