Swan O Amell marks his 8th birthday with an open house at St Charles amusement hall on December 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free dancing for all over 16 from 8 to 11 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
Mr. and Mrs Arch Shepherd and Mr. and Mrs Owen Shepherd were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs L L Deardorff at Camp Lifton on Sunday.
The Paris Lions Club hosted stockmen from nearby communities for a dinner and talk at the Hotel Paris last Friday. Dr Louis Madsen head of Animal Husbandry at Utah Agricultural College delivered an instructive address on livestock to thirty nine members and guests.

The American Legion Post No. 4 and Auxiliary announce the World’s Greatest Christmas Party to aid sick wounded and disabled servicemen. Gifts including books, games, toiletries, clothing items are requested for Farragut and Sun Valley convalescent centers, with a December 9 deadline and donations to Shepherd Hardware Store.
Alfred Budge starts his 32nd year as Idaho Supreme Court justice on November 30. He hails from a storied Northwest family and credits his wife for much of his success. Budge, born in Providence Utah and raised in Paris Idaho, studied at LDS academies in Utah and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1892 with a diploma signed by Thomas M. Cooley.
Grace defeats Fielding 26 to 26 in a rough opener as Fielding trails most of the game. The schedule continues with games at Grace and Bancroft, plus home clashes with South Rich and Georgetown across December and January.

Bloomington Idaho native radarman third class John Nebeker Findlay served aboard the destroyer USS Irwin during the Pacific campaign. The ship moved from Buckner Bay Okinawa to join occupation forces at Wakayama Japan and later ferried between Wakayama and Okinawa. Irwin participated in Iwo Jima Okinawa and strikes on the Japanese homeland.
Local residents traveled to Ogden and Salt Lake City for visits and business. Clyde Richards died in Ogden and his funeral was held in Morgan with burial in Logan. A card party gathered at the Stucki home with several Paris and Garden City residents attending. Lyman H. Bunn, formerly of Paria, received an honorable discharge after 19 months in Europe.
The Park Lions Club sponsors a benefit dance Friday night with all net proceeds destined for a projector for Fielding High School. The Bear Lake Stake cooperates by donating the pavilion free of charge to maximize funds.
Funeral services for Dr. Thomas B Budge 67 longtime Cache County Utah physician were held November 28 in Logan Fifth Ward chapel. Born January 29 1878 in Paris he studied in Paris Bear Lake Academy BYC Chicago College of Dental Surgery 1902 Northwestern Medical School 1905 and practiced with his brother D C Budge. Survivors include widow two sons three daughters twelve grandchildren and many relatives.
Melvin Kunz pled guilty to neckless driving before the Probate Court last week and was not paroled to Alton Bunderson. The notice corrects that misstatement and clarifies the case details.
The Wednesday Evening Sewing club gathered at the home of Mrs Velma Hansen. Arrangements have been made by public spirited individuals to bring Santa Claus to Paris Monday evening next week. A program starts about 7 o clock in the center square with songs duets and solos by local performers. Citizens will turn on Christmas lights in front of the courthouse as part of the event.
Mrs Hayes of Twin Falls has been named Idaho state chairman of the 1946 March of Dimes to be conducted January 1941 by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. The president of the foundation announces the drive, detailing polio costs and the foundation’s policy to help all infants regardless of age race or creed. The local chapter will keep half of the funds for community work while the other half supports the foundation’s research education and epidemic control efforts.
