Former Liberty Lady Dies in Ogden Hospital

Mrs. Ammorette Wixom Tippetts of Ogden died Wednesday in Dee Hospital. She was born Sept. 15, 1889, in Liberty Idaho, daughter of Joseph and Elvera Wixom. Surviving are her husband Joseph and 13 children, 38 grandchildren, one great grandchild, six brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday in the LDS Tenth Ward with burial in Ogden Cemetery.

Amos Hulmes Honored on 30th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Lau rel Pugmire hosted a Sunday evening gathering at their St. Charles home to celebrate the thirtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Hulme of Paria. A chicken dinner was served to guests including Hulme family members and kin. Linen for the occasion was reportedly imported from Ireland by Laurel Pugmire during his mission.

33 Bear Lake Students Attend Idaho State College

Thirty-three students from the Bear Lake area are among 1695 enrolled at Idaho State College for the first semester. The Montpelier group includes freshmen sophomores juniors and seniors with majors listed. Other towns such as Paris Georgetown Dingle Ovid Bennington Reymond and Noonan are represented by a mix of freshmen sophomores juniors and seniors with various majors.

Montpelier man wounded in accidental shooting at parlor

Rex LaRocco of Montpelier was accidentally shot Friday evening when a supposedly unloaded .22 pistol fired at the Idaho Billiard Parlor. Rex LaRocco was struck in the left hip, taken to a hospital and is reported to be recovering nicely.

CVA Would Dictate Fishing and Hunting, Says Cordon

Alfred Cordon, a Pocatello attorney, told the Oneida Rod & Gun Club at Malad that if the CVA bill passes in Congress the night to fish and hunt in Idaho and the Northwest would be controlled by a President and a three member board.

Dependency allowances expanded for veterans 50 to 60 percent

The Veterans Administration announces new dependency allowances for veterans with 50 to 60 percent disability who have dependents. Rates vary by number of dependents, with $10.50 to $28 for wartime service and $7 to $17.50 for peacetime recipients, depending on wife and children. Eligibility requires proof of relationship and timely filing by December 1, 1949.

Commercial Teacher Injured in Car Mishap

Mr Bryner a commercial instructor at Fielding High School is in a Logan hospital after a car accident returning to Paris from Provo. His car skidded in Lob Canyon and was wrecked leaving him with numerous cuts and bruises. He was expected to be released in a few days.

Eva Dunn honored on 77th birthday at Salt Lake City home

Mrs Eva Dunn was celebrated on her 77th birthday at the W Tueller residence in Salt Lake City last Sunday. Eight five members of the immediate family attended the gathering. Mr and Mrs Max Hadock and sons of Montpelier and Mrs Sam Wilkes of St Charles were among the guests.

Word was received Sunday that Mrs. Matilda Jacobson, 88, had died that morning in a Blackfoot Idaho hospital. She had lived in St. Charles for years before moving to Blackfoot in 1906.

State Board of Education official to visit Bear Lake schools

Mr. Jim Fowler, in charge of Transportation and Guidance, will visit Bear Lake county Monday and Tuesday December 5 and 6. He will address Montpelier High School students and possibly elementary pupils Monday, then Weldin g High School students and elementary students from all schools at separate meetings Tuesday. Power companies pledge ample supply for Arco atomic plant

Officials from Idaho Power Co and Utah Power & Light Co said they can meet regional electric needs including the Arco atomic reactor plant. They outlined plans for new generating capacity and transmission lines over the next five years, with projects adding 120 000 kw and 150 000 kw at Utah plants and 115 000 kw plus 25 000 kw at Idaho Power.

Earl Scofield Home in Lima Montana Destroyed by Fire

Mr and Mrs W B Hoge learned that the farm home of Darl Scofield and wife at Lima Montana was totally destroyed by fire. Only a cedar chest upstairs was saved as firefighters battled the blaze believed started by an overheated oil stove. The Scofields had recently moved from Ashton Idaho.
