Joseph Sleight Dies in Salt Lake City at 70
Joseph H Sleight 70 native of Paris Utah died Sunday night at LDS Hospital Salt Lake City from heart trouble. Born February 22 1869 to Thomas and Mary Sleight he helped on the Sleight farm near Paris and later moved to Burley with brother J Orson Sleight. Survivors include widow Ruth and two sons Wayne and William Carlyle of Salt Lake City. another son Norman died in drowning. Funeral held Wednesday at 2 pm in Paris 2nd Ward chapel with interment in Paris cemetery.

Seventy five members met at Rainbow Rod and Gun club to prepare resolutions for presentation to the State Fish and Game Department. Dr Wells Stock and Lee Tufts will attend the district meeting in Pocatello and the state convention in McCall. The club favors higher non resident license fees and seeks a Deer season opening October 15 1950. Bear Lake Valley waters have received over two hundred thousand fish in plantings, with the club pleased by state department results.

Parents Day at Fielding High a Successful Event
A large turnout of parents replaced students at Fielding High for Parents Day last Thursday. An morning assembly guided by Supt. Barnett started at 9 30 with four class sessions before and after noon. A final assembly closed the day, praised as a success for both parents and teachers. Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a bridge club gathering followed, with local ladies hosting and sharing readings and games. On Saturday afternoon November 12 a birthday party for Dorothy Nye featured games and refreshments.

Mrs. Emmeline Scheidegger Mourtisen died in Portland Oregon on November 16 after a year of illness. Born 1893 in Paris she was daughter of John and Diliza Scheidegger. Survived by husband David Mourtisen two daughters Betty and Glenn Griffeth of Portland a father John Scheidegger Paris a brother Jess Scheidegger Paris four sisters Mrs Johanna Butler Paris Mrs Rose Butler Montpelier Mrs Pearl Pearce Lava Hot Springs and Mrs Gladys Shriver Rock Springs Wyoming. Funeral services and burial were in Portland last Saturday.

Native Fish Haven Lady Dies Saturday in Malta
Mrs Gladys Ellen Nelson Beyler 85 of Malta Idaho died Saturday in a Salt Lake hospital. Born January 12 1897 at Fish Haven Idaho she moved to Wyoming as a child and later married Leo William Beyler October 11 1915. The couple settled in Malta where she remained active in church Relief Society and Primary work. She leaves nine children fifteen grandchildren and a father Marcus Nelson of Salt Lake City plus six siblings. The body was to be cared for by the Bol ton family with callers at their home Sunday.
