Joesph Collings received head and facial bruises when his horse was hit by a southbound car driven by Albert B H of Logan at 2nd South and Main. The horse was only lightly injured and Collings was taken to Bear Lake hospital for treatment.
4 H Livestock members from Bear Lake and Caribou counties held a judging tour on Saturday August 16. Wade Wells University of Idaho Swine Specialist provided pointers on beef cattle and sheep. The group judged sheep at Finch Ranch Soda Springs swine at Mile and cattle at Budge Ranch Noonan with high scorer Mariel Skinner 86 2 3 percent.

Marie Pendrey daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Pendrey of Logan Utah married Reed S Roberts son of Mr and Mrs Ben H Roberts of Logan in a Logan temple ceremony officiated by Pres ElRay Christiansen. The couple planned a ten day honeymoon in southern Utah and will reside in Logan as Roberts pursues studies.
World War II veterans may cash their terminal leave bonds beginning September 2 at First Security Bank, which is authorized to pay. Bonds earn 2.5 percent interest and are not transferable. Owners must prove identity, preferably with original separation papers or other sufficient ID.
The Bear Lake Stake Quorum of High Priests and their wives along with widows gathered at Fish Haven Resort on August 20 for a dinner and program. The event featured community singing led by Ernest Hymas, various solos and readings, remarks by Pres. BE. W. Stucki, and a closing prayer by George Weston. Committee chairs Herbert L. Spencer and Archie Vallentine were noted for coordinating refreshments and program duties.
Widtsoe W. Krogue and Miss Emma Payne wed August 11 at the Galt Lake temple officiated by Elder Harold B. Lee. Widtsoe is the son of the late Nels L. and Ivy Bateman Krogue, an army veteran with overseas service in Africa Sicily and the Mediterranean. Emma Payne, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Payne, studied at BYU and served as a Golden Gleaner and missionary in the East Central States.

A large bull moose was seen Friday afternoon south of Bloomington by several residents. It blocked the highway, jumped fences, and crossed the Will Bateman property before vanishing west into the mountains. A previous moose sighting occurred along Paris Creek below the highway on the H M Collings property.
Mrs. Emms Windley Lima, 79, died in Garden City after an extended illness. Born July 10, 1568 in St Charles, she was a longtime LDS church worker and Sunday school teacher. Surviving: husband Thomas Sims, children Everett Mitchell Satterthwaite Woffinden Arch Elea nor, sister Eleanor Virgin, 22 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Funeral Saturday at 1 pm in Garden City ward chapel.

The Fish Haven Resort plans a weekend of dancing with three bands. Friday features the Utah Play Boys of Ogden, Saturday hosts a balloon dance and a special orchestra, and Sunday Labor Day at one minute past midnight starts the grand holiday dance with the Gentlemen of Note.
Matthews Brothers of Liberty win multiple Hampshire awards at the Galt Lake Sheep show held at the Utah State air grounds. Prizes include top placements in yearling ewe and ram categories, ewe lambs, ram lambs, produce of dam, pens, get of sire, and the Champion Yearling Ewe, reflecting a strong regional reputation among western sheep breeders.
Funeral services were held last Thursday in the St Charles ward chapel for Wm A C Keetch who died August 18 after a heart attack. Presiding and conducting were Bp Arlin R Pugmire with multiple speakers and musical tributes, ending with a graveside dedication by Pres E Woodruff Stucks.
The Keetch family thanks friends for deeds and expressions of love and sympathy and for the beautiful floral offerings after the passing of our beloved father Wm. A. C. Keetch.
Mrs Clifford Minson joined Mr Heber Stock and Mrs Heber Stock on a Sunday outing to Ogden. The social trio traveled together with no incidents reported.

Mrs. Mirinda Sparks entertained the Delta Deli Club at her home last Wednesday evening. Mrs. Hann received high score for the evening.
