Inter state Commerce Commission ordered railroads serving southern Idaho to cut grain shipment rates to Pacific coast points, effective November 1 1947. Estimated annual savings reach 5000000 to growers from a 1 to 11 cent per cwt cut, based on 47 crop projections with 15000000 bushels moving by rail. State Polio Funds Urgently Needed for Idaho Pool
Checks totaling about 18 500 from 21 of Idaho 44 National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis chapters were sent to the Idaho State Polio Advisory Committee to aid the state in its worst infantile paralysis outbreak.
