E J Todings at the University of Idaho warns that feeding alfalfa hay alone to brood mares can cause abortion and weak or deformed foals. Adding grain and mixing timothy or oat straw improves safety, and never exceed about sixteen pounds of alfalfa daily for a 1200 to 1500 pound mare.
Commissioners proceedings note Ely's Cream Balm quickly relieves nasal catarrh by cleansing and healing surfaces through the nostrils. The 50 cent size is sold by druggists. A liquid form with a spraying tube, priced 75 cents, is also offered by the makers or by mail.
