Wind storm damages roof at Fieldling High School

Last week wind storms damaged Fieldling High School with part of the roofing blown off and rain leaking through, stripping plaster from ceilings in several rooms. A roofing company is repairing the roof this week. Trees outbuildings and valley grain fields also sustained damage.

Descendants Gather for Sampson Nate Family Reunion at Ideal Beach

About 217 descendants of Sampson Nate and George Neat held a two day reunion at Ideal Beach. Udell Nate presided at Saturday sessions with readings by Adell Nate and Janet Grimmett, songs by the Nate family, and a marker installation update for Paris Cemetery. Chas Nate chaired Sunday events with a financial report and elections naming Udell Nate as president and Gladys Nate as vice president.

Paris Lions Club Dinner at Fish Haven

Paris Lions Club and guests enjoyed a fine dinner and party at Fish Haven Resort. After a chicken dinner in the dance pavilion, old-time dancing followed with piano music by Mrs Grant Bateman. Bernard and Alma Brown sang. JoAnn Booth played accordion. Arrangements were by Mrs Walter Bird, Mrs Van Ness Wallentine and Mrs Albert Spencer. There were 35 present.

Wm Nye and two daughters visited the Joe Nye home in Montpelier last Wednesday. Gene Browning of Ogden spent the weekend with his mother Mrs Thelma Browning. Paul Gunderson returned to Salt Lake City. Mr and Mrs Charles Innes accompanied by Mr and Mrs E H Crawford to Salt Lake for a few days. Miss Louise Keetch of St Charles and Mrs Richard Berghout of Salt Lake City spent Monday with Mrs L Parker. Eldon L Peterson and family of Salt Lake City visited Paris relatives. Ezra Stucki and daughter Lila of Rexburg visited the Eirza B Cook home in Morgan. Rich left for Salt Lake City after a two week visit with Sargent Mich and family. Mrs Lena Palanch of Rock Springs WY arrived to visit Ivan Beck and Wells Stock homes. Paris 1stward Mutual Girls spent Thurs–Sat at the Girls Summer Home at Lakota with Mrs Rhea Stucki chaperoning. Mrs B S Rich and son Kenneth of Salt Lake visited at Louise Grimmett’s and with relatives. Mrs L H Booth and Avard Booth were weekend guests at Frank Bolton and Fred Price homes, accompanied by Mrs Farron Cutler and son Kenneth. The group attended the Shepherd reunion at Fish Haven Friday.

Shepherd Family Reunion Held Last Week at Resort

The Shepherd family reunion gathered about 200 descendants at Fish Haven last Friday and Saturday. Dinner was served Friday at 6 30 PM on the resort grounds, followed by a program in the Fish Haven ward amusement hall. Saturday morning saw officers elected: F T Shepherd president. Alvin Shepherd active president. J William Nortin vice president. Edwin T Shepherd secretary and treasurer. Mr and Mrs Ruegell Innes of Lehi Utah visited relatives in Paris and Laketown. Carrie Innes returned with them to Salt Lake where she expects surgery.

Stucki Named to Ranch Near Rexburg

John Stucki of Pittsburgh California arrives Sunday to take over the Ezra Stucki ranch near Rexburg and will reside with grandmother Mrs. Eliza B Cook. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Ezra Stucki of Rexburg.

Humpherys Reunion Weekend Travels Reported

Mr and Mrs Marshall James Humpherys of Logan spent the weekend at the Hannah Humpherys home. They attended the Humpherys reunion with Lava Hot Springs Monday. Mrs John Bunn and daughter Connie with Mrs Wilma McCombs and baby left Wednesday for California. Bunn and Connie plan to visit Lodi and Los Angeles with Mrs Rhea Fitzgerald for several weeks.

Hyrum Rich Family Reunion in Star Valley Aug 8

Forty three descendants of the late Hyrum and Elizabeth Rich from Bear Lake joined 117 members of the Star Valley branch for the annual reunion on August 8 at Fairview Wye. The day featured music readings jokes a family band games and a 11 to 10 softball win by Bear Lake followed by lunch. A total of 315 descendants were counted.
