Last week wind storms damaged Fieldling High School with part of the roofing blown off and rain leaking through, stripping plaster from ceilings in several rooms. A roofing company is repairing the roof this week. Trees outbuildings and valley grain fields also sustained damage.

Wallace Stucki leads a Sunday School swim at Hot Springs. Mr and Mrs Ray Reeder and Mrs Darling Rich travel to Salt Lake to see Promised Valley and return to Paris. Mr and Mrs Erwin Jensen Pleasant Grove and Mr and Mrs Lyman Rich Logan attend the Shepherd reunion. Friday.

Paris Lions Club and guests enjoyed a fine dinner and party at Fish Haven Resort. After a chicken dinner in the dance pavilion, old-time dancing followed with piano music by Mrs Grant Bateman. Bernard and Alma Brown sang. JoAnn Booth played accordion. Arrangements were by Mrs Walter Bird, Mrs Van Ness Wallentine and Mrs Albert Spencer. There were 35 present.
Wm Nye and two daughters visited the Joe Nye home in Montpelier last Wednesday. Gene Browning of Ogden spent the weekend with his mother Mrs Thelma Browning. Paul Gunderson returned to Salt Lake City. Mr and Mrs Charles Innes accompanied by Mr and Mrs E H Crawford to Salt Lake for a few days. Miss Louise Keetch of St Charles and Mrs Richard Berghout of Salt Lake City spent Monday with Mrs L Parker. Eldon L Peterson and family of Salt Lake City visited Paris relatives. Ezra Stucki and daughter Lila of Rexburg visited the Eirza B Cook home in Morgan. Rich left for Salt Lake City after a two week visit with Sargent Mich and family. Mrs Lena Palanch of Rock Springs WY arrived to visit Ivan Beck and Wells Stock homes. Paris 1stward Mutual Girls spent Thurs–Sat at the Girls Summer Home at Lakota with Mrs Rhea Stucki chaperoning. Mrs B S Rich and son Kenneth of Salt Lake visited at Louise Grimmett’s and with relatives. Mrs L H Booth and Avard Booth were weekend guests at Frank Bolton and Fred Price homes, accompanied by Mrs Farron Cutler and son Kenneth. The group attended the Shepherd reunion at Fish Haven Friday.
The John Hymas family reunion will be held Monday August 13 at Paris park. Family members are urged to attend.
The Shepherd family reunion gathered about 200 descendants at Fish Haven last Friday and Saturday. Dinner was served Friday at 6 30 PM on the resort grounds, followed by a program in the Fish Haven ward amusement hall. Saturday morning saw officers elected: F T Shepherd president. Alvin Shepherd active president. J William Nortin vice president. Edwin T Shepherd secretary and treasurer. Mr and Mrs Ruegell Innes of Lehi Utah visited relatives in Paris and Laketown. Carrie Innes returned with them to Salt Lake where she expects surgery.
John Stucki of Pittsburgh California arrives Sunday to take over the Ezra Stucki ranch near Rexburg and will reside with grandmother Mrs. Eliza B Cook. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Ezra Stucki of Rexburg.
Mr and Mrs Marshall James Humpherys of Logan spent the weekend at the Hannah Humpherys home. They attended the Humpherys reunion with Lava Hot Springs Monday. Mrs John Bunn and daughter Connie with Mrs Wilma McCombs and baby left Wednesday for California. Bunn and Connie plan to visit Lodi and Los Angeles with Mrs Rhea Fitzgerald for several weeks.
Mrs Eliza B Cook hosted visitors on Sunday August 3 including Hidon Cook and son Ted of Border Wyoming, Zelda Cook of Salt Lake, Shirl E Cook and wife of Baton Rouge, Emily Rich with Naomi of Provo, and Lois Gunderson of Salt Lake. The gathering featured an afternoon of fine music by the Cook family.
The Sunday Evening Study group enjoyed a dutch oven dinner at Paris park Saturday evening. Attendees included Bishop and Mrs Kenneth Matthews, Mr and Mrs Whitney Transtrum, Mr and Mrs VanNess Vallentine, Mr and Mrs Weldon Grandy, Mr and Mrs Morris Athay, and Bo and Mrs Clarence Rich.
Forty three descendants of the late Hyrum and Elizabeth Rich from Bear Lake joined 117 members of the Star Valley branch for the annual reunion on August 8 at Fairview Wye. The day featured music readings jokes a family band games and a 11 to 10 softball win by Bear Lake followed by lunch. A total of 315 descendants were counted.
Mrs Max Haddock and two sons visited her mother Mrs Eva Dunn in Montpelier. Verna Allred traveled to Salt Lake with Sparks and Roghaar families. Several families spent weekends in Salt Lake City and Yellowstone Park. Widespread trips include the Caldwell home, Hun Saker and Weils households, Jess Scheidegger party to Yellowstone, Passey in Conda, Hymas family from Paris and Liberty, Emily Rich to Pleasant Grove for the Keetch reunion, Wilks family from Ogden visiting Emil Grandy, and Kenyon Wilks recently released from the US Army in Texas.
A Sunday chicken dinner was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Jess Scheidegger to celebrate his birthday anniversary. Guests included Mr and Mrs James Winham, Mr and Mrs Glen Lloyd of Montpelier, Mr and Mrs Cliff Pearce of Lava Hot Springs, Mr and Mrs Norman Gambling of Sharon, and others.

The Delta Delt Bridge Club held a dinner and bridge party Thursday at St. Charles Cafe and J. B. Hann home to honor Mrs. Clara Budge who plans to move to Logan. Mrs. Hann won high score. Budge received three handkerchiefs from members.
The Revenue Act of 142 imposes a 3 percent tax on the transportation of property for hire by rail, motor vehicle, water, or air within the United States. Shippers pay the tax to the hauler, who must remit to the Collector of Internal Revenue monthly. Farmers hauling for themselves are exempt, but hauling for others for hire triggers tax liability. The O. FB Parker family reunion took place on August 3 in Logan. Attendees from Paris included Mr and Mrs George H Parker and family Mr and Mrs Ronald Parker and family Mr and Mrs Fredrick L Parker and family Mr and Mrs G Hiwodd Parker and baby Mr and Mrs Junior Beck and family Mr and Mrs Arnett Harley Mr and Mrs Alfred Parker of Roy Utah and Mr and Mrs Eldon L Peterson and family of Salt Lake.
