An Old Pioneer Called to Rest
Mrs. Ann New Passey an old pioneer died Friday April 7. Born in Woestershire England October 220th day, she married John Passey who died April 17 1836 and joined the Mormon Church April 12 1850. She moved to Paris in 1865 and remained. She left six children forty five grandchildren one hundred forty two great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. Funeral was held at the 2nd ward meeting house Monday at 11 a m. Mrs Passey rests in heaven for her deeds.

County Commissioners Push Businesslike Reforms
The commissioners reappointed all officials under the new road law, authorized the Probate Judge to buy a typewriter, ordered steel culverts from Portland, and appropriated 600 to support the County Fair. The eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hurst died suddenly Sunday morning after a brief illness. He awoke restless during the night, asked for water, lay down and said he was going to sleep, then passed away. The Hurst family expresses deep sympathy as funeral plans are not specified.
