Pioneer of 1847 Pioneer Mary Rich Linford Dies
Mary Rich Linford, born February 11, 1846 in Nauvoo, died April 4 in Brigham City Utah. She arrived in Utah in 1847 with her parents and was among the earliest settlers. Survived by 12 brothers and 9 sisters 33 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St Charles with Bishop E W Allred officiating. The event honored a pioneer born in Nauvoo and tied to the church’s early history.

Lead and Copper Strike Reported Near Logan Highway
Ed Kendall of Evanston reports a rich lead and silver ore strike at a claim near Logan highway, with ore about 60 percent lead and heavy copper ore found four miles away. The vein is estimated 20 feet thick, at about 15 feet depth, and Kendall plans to return to Garden City to continue work. Visitors from Utah and Washington state are staying with Mra James Collings.

D B Donahue of the Idaho Egg Producers will tour the county on Wednesday April 15. A candling demonstration will be held at Paris Court House at 2 p m and at Montpelier City Hall at 8 p m.
