Died Tuesday at residence Mrs Budge 78 in Utah

Mrs Atin Hyer Budge 78 longtime Utah resident and mother of fifteen died Tuesday at the family home. Born January 25 1853 in Utah she lived in Paris Idaho prior to settling in Logan. Fourteen children survive including Isabel Davis Paris Esra Budge and several doctors and spouses. Funeral services set for Logan with possible location in tabernacle or Fourth Ward chapel.

City audit shows record made during past two years

B E Smith of Van Deusen Auditing Co Boise completed an audit of Paris city finances for 1929 30 and a May 1 1930 to March 18 1931 supplement. The report notes street work costs rise to 2091 60 last 10 months with 1750 in donated labor and lists bond reductions deficits and suggested refunding high rate bonds.

Warden Wheeler criticizes reformers on eve of retirement

Boise idaho on his final day as warden joseph w Wheeler denounces professional reformers as responsible for prison riots and says he booked no interference from them He will be succeeded by r e thomas who plans to maintain current policies and who also criticizes reformers while noting overcrowding and segregation issues at the penitentiary. The interview also mentions a dispute with secretary of state fred lukens over prison administration and lists the boards of pardons with governors and attorneys general.

Poison Squirrels Early Says County Agent

The Bear Lake county agent urges early ground squirrel poisoning at first sight of above ground activity. He notes early baiting targets hungry squirrels and reduces crop risk, advising bait near den entrances and avoiding burrow piles to protect livestock. Poison bait for pocket gophers and rock chucks is also available at the County Agent’s office.

Edna Linford Dies in Logan Utah Following Illness

Mrs. Edna Linford, sister of the Hulme family, died in Logan Utah Tuesday evening after several days of illness with pneumonia. A native of Blompington she was raised there. Funeral services are set for Friday at 1 p. m.

Mary B Linford Hurt In Washing Machine Accident

Mrs Mary B Linford 85 of Bear Lake county and St Charles resident wintering in Logan Utah was badly injured when her hand was drawn into an operating washing machine wringer. She slipped on wet linoleum while passing by and is now in Brigham City Utah in grave condition with a severely lacerated hand and flu.

Duck season in Idaho shortened to end December 31

Idaho duck season opens at noon October 1 and closes December 31, shortening the season by 15 days. State game warden R. E. Thomas said changes were made on the recommendation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act advisory board of which he is a member. Previously the season opened at dawn October 1 and ran to January 16.

Snow measurements show low summit snowfall this year

Measurements at Garden City Creek summit report snow much less than in prior years. March last day depth averaged 26.11 inches with 4.4 inches water content, compared with 66 inches and 19 inches water in 1930 and much higher in 1929 1928 and 1927. Manderville heads to Colorado to discuss beet land fertilizer plan

Manderville, who runs the local organization program and aims to build a large fertilizer plant, travels to Denver to confer with A. E.
