New York expands coverage for addiction treatment drugs
New York state through the Department of Financial Services requires more health insurers to cover medications for opioid addiction. The rules apply to large-group policies and mirror existing coverage for small group and individual plans. In addition, insurers must cover inpatient substance abuse treatment in in-network facilities, reducing cost barriers to recovery.
