New York Faces 1.2 Billion Diabetes Medicaid Bill
Albany AP report shows New York Medicaid spent over 1.2 billion on diabetes in 2013, up 31 percent in five years. About 1.6 million adults have diabetes, 460,000 in Medicaid, with 750,000 undiagnosed and 1.5 million at risk. 4,035 diabetes deaths reported for 2013. Majorities are low income and minority groups are high risk.
