Lecture on Oswego Grand Old Homes to Be Held
Oswego County Historical Society hosts a 1:30 p.m. October 18 lecture at the Richardson Bates House Museum 135 E Third St Oswego. Justin White president will present Grand Old Homes of Oswego Gone and Forgotten with a PowerPoint on the Gilded Age and the once grand residences now gone. The non profit society preserves history and operates the museum on the National Register of Historic Places. For information call 343-1342 during hours.

Plans Approved for Adirondack North Country Trail Route
The New York Department of Environmental Conservation approved the Adirondack section of the North Country National Scenic Trail effective Oct 10. The Adirondack segment will cover about 158 miles from Forestport in Oneida County to Crown Point, using 81 miles of existing trails and 39 miles to be built, with 27 miles of road walking. The national trail spans 4,600 miles across the United States, between Crown Point State Historic Site and Lake Sakakawea State Park, with roughly 2,700 miles completed nationwide.

Addiction awareness group forms in Oswego for friends and family
A new Oswego group for relatives and friends of addicts holds 6:30 p.m. meetings at 283 W. Second Suite 100, Farnham Family Services Prevention Offices. The group aims to share information and reduce stress while offering support, with a guest speaker from the Oswego County Drug Task Force planned for the upcoming session.
