Shineman Foundation grants 30000 to OCO SAF program
The Richard S. Shineman Foundation awarded Oswego County Opportunities 30000 for SAF, a domestic violence and rape crisis program in Oswego County. The funds will upgrade shelter security with new monitoring systems and add fencing to protect confidentiality while expanding services such as a 24 hour crisis line, case management, outreach, counseling, and prevention education.

NRCS NY sets CSP signup cutoff for 2017
NRCS New York announces February 3 as the application cutoff for fiscal year 2017 sign up for the Conservation Stewardship Program. The CSP offers payments to agricultural producers and forest landowners for active conservation practices while maintaining production. Applications after February 3 may be deferred to 2018 if rounds are not announced.

Car seat safety check at APW inspects and replaces seats
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown in cooperation with Oswego County Traffic Safety Board and New York State Police conducted a child safety seat inspection. They checked and replaced nearly two dozen seats for safety and proper installation. Only four seats were found to be safe and correctly installed, with inspectors advising parents on correct use and installation.
