Local Section III Class A baseball playoffs set to begin

Oswego Fulton and Mexico qualified for the Section III Class A playoffs with seeds 6 3 and 13. Oswego hosts 11th seed Oneida, Fulton hosts 14th seed Chittenango, and Mexico visits fourth seed Cortland. Semifinals are at Onondaga Community College with the title game May 30 at OCC.

Oswego Fulton set for softball playoffs

Oswego and Fulton enter the Class A section playoffs with Oswego seeded fifth and Fulton ninth. Oswego faces Cortland in quarterfinals Thursday at Cortland, while Fulton meets East Syracuse Minoa Tuesday in a first round game. Winners advance to a quarterfinal at Oneida, with Jamesville DeWitt second and Indian River fourth. semifinals Saturday and title game May 31.

Rain Cancels Fulton Speedway Racing Program

Rain forced the cancellation of Fulton Speedway's Saturday racing program. Ticket stubs can be used for a future event of equal value or toward a more expensive race. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. along Route 57 near Fulton. details at the track website.

Fulton launches youth sports conditioning program

Fulton begins a new youth conditioning program led by former NFL player Leroy Collins, co-owner of Syracuse Strong. Independent front suspension wins headline Oswego Speedway action with Kody Graham claiming the 50 lap Novelis Supermodified feature and Mike Bruce dominating the 30 lap Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super main. Graham, driving his father’s No 90 renumbered No 21, led from lap 14 after a late pass and held off Bran­don Bellinger and Otto Sitterly.

Kody Graham dominates the 50 lap Novelis Supermodifieds at Oswego Speedway to take the victory, with Brandon Bellinger second and Otto Sitterly third. Traffic changes, a lap 43 caution for Pat Lavery, and a late surge by Graham solidified the lead as Bellinger and Sitterly chased.

Bruce Wins Oswego 30-Lap Pathfinder Bank SBS Feature

Mike Bruce freshened Morrison powerplant and led all 30 laps for his fourth Oswego Small-Block Super win. Camden Proud finished second with Dalton Doyle third, as opening night winner Mike Bond placed sixth and several cautions interrupted the race. Bruce credited tire wear and stout defense on the bottom as keys to the triumph.
