Rice Creek Plans Summer Rambles At Oswego Campus

Oswego State’s Rice Creek Field Station offers free Rice Creek Rambles at 11 a.m. on eight Saturdays this summer including June 6 and 20, July 11 18 25, and Aug 1 8 15 at the 400 acre site on Thompson Road. The program is family friendly and naturalist led. registration runs through June 5 for Exploring Nature for ages 5-13 and through June 15 for Conservation Field Studies for teens.

Environmental studies under way for Granby water project

Granby moves forward with Water Service Area 6A as Miller Engineering tackles required environmental studies funded by a 25 thousand dollar town allotment. USDA Rural Development grant support up to 750 thousand dollars could back a 2.859 million project to supply about 200 southern Granby homes with water, with bids possibly in mid summer and a 38 year loan at around 2.75 percent.
