Fairley's Healthy Family Night in Hannibal Draws Big Crowd
At Fairley Elementary School the third Healthy Family Night featured a new hopping exercise by Soul Hooping founder Heather Plyler and PE teacher Lynn Halliwell. Kindergartner Peyton Wirth demonstrated the hoop motion while 22 weighted hoops will be used in PE classes. The event included taekwondo, therapy dogs, jump rope, door prizes, healthy snacks, and a Cornell Cooperative Extension booth with sugar content games. organizers reported attendance of 536 people and distributed health tips to families.
