Fulton Junior High students learn healthy choices after school
Fulton Junior High School students in the Junior Raiders Opportunity Club participate in a five week after school program with Fulton Community School and Oswego County Opportunities. The Extended Day Program includes Cornell Cooperative Extension activities and local business support. Seventh and eighth graders meet 2:20 to 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday Wednesday and Friday with bus home. Activities focus on social and emotional skills, goal setting hygiene and healthy lifestyles. Health department staff taught smoothie making via bike powered blender and field trip to a grocery store to compare prices. Students collected germ samples and learned hand washing. The culmination activity used vegetables and fruits to build a movable car raced by staff and students.
