The Chris Gaffney Foundation donated golf bags to the Pulaski High School varsity golf team and batting helmets to the varsity softball team this spring. Athletic Director Jeff Shirley expressed appreciation, noting Chris Gaffney’s love for sports and honoring his memory with the gifts.
More than 180 Oswego County students earned induction into the National Technical Honor Society at a Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation ceremony. Inductees met eligibility, maintaining at least a 90 percent CTE average and solid academic standing, while demonstrating responsibility, service, leadership, skill, scholarship, honesty, and citizenship. District Superintendent Christopher Todd urged honorees to pursue work they love and excel at, promising a happy life when doing so.
Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club awarded $500 to Samuel Gilbert and $250 to Claire Ratzlaff, both Oswego High School graduates. Samuel, son of Craig and Jill Gilbert, is a firefighter with Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department, an Eagle Scout, and Troop 888 leader. He contributed to the marching band and volunteered at Grace and Glory Ministries, Camp Foundations, and as a counselor. Claire, daughter of Remerly and Carla Ratzlaff, is a scholar athlete in basketball and soccer, active in Interact Club, a children's church director, and volunteered on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Washington, DC.
