New Teacher Institute Welcomes OCSD First-Year Faculty
Oswego City School District hosts a two day New Teacher Institute for over twenty five faculty members. Superintendent Dr Dean Goewey urged teachers to stay on their best game and be all in at Oswego. The district adopts a student centered mission emphasizing diversity and collaborative community engagement to ensure literacy is a district wide focus this year. A Literacy Task Force will drive efforts to have all students reading at grade level.

King named director of Crisis and Development Services at OCO
Cristy King, an Oswego County Opportunities veteran since 2000, will lead Crisis and Development Services. Her 17 years with OCO include SAF House management, program expansion, funding procurement, and strong partnerships with SUNY Oswego, local school districts, and the Child Advocacy Center to aid victims of domestic and sexual violence and assist homeless youth and families.
