Man arrested in bomb threat hoax against Statue of Liberty
Federal authorities say Jason Paul Smith, using the alias Abdul Yasin, called 911 from Lubbock Texas claiming the Statue of Liberty would be blown up. The April threat led to evacuations of Liberty Island and a dog sweep of the area. Smith faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

Men linked to fatal overdose sentenced to state prison
OSWEGO Two men involved in heroin sales tied to a SUNY Oswego student’s 2014 Bridge Street Run death were sentenced to five years in state prison with two years of post release supervision. Gabriel A. Gonzalez and Brian T. Tumolo bought and sold the drugs used in the fatal overdose.
