Unit 2 Back Online at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant
Nine Mile Point Nuclear Generating Facility Unit 2 is back online after a weekend forced outage. Exelon Generation said the reactor reached full power at 11 37 a.m. Wednesday following an automatic shutdown at 10 35 p.m. Saturday due to high reactor pressure. NRC noted the protection system and turbine stop valves were testing when the high pressure triggered the shutdown and called the plant’s response appropriate with safety systems performing as expected.
