Urban Beat exhibition opens at SUNY Oswego Metro Center
Syracuse artist Linda Bigness launches Urban Beat Recent Works in encaustic and oil Aug 26 Oct 22 at Pen Oswego Metro Center Clinton Square. A free public reception Sept 1 5 30 to 7 30 p.m. in the Atrium with Bigness speaking at 6 p.m. Bigness known for abstracts and collage to painting cites urban renewal hidden facets in deteriorated city walls.

The Oswego Festival Chorus under SUNY Oswego Choral Director Dr. Mihoko Tsutsumi invites vocalists to join for 2016 17. Long Island men rescue osprey tangled in line
Derek Cullum spotted an osprey tangled in fishing line on a Gardiners Bay pylon in East Hampton. Mike Kramer arrived with a boat and freed the bird after a 35 foot plunge, cutting away the line so it can recover at a wildlife center and be released near its nest.

New Horizons Chorus Performs at The Gardens Oswego
Oswego County New Horizons Chorus with 45 members along with band and orchestra visited The Gardens Assisted Living in Oswego. The group, established at Eastman School of Music, offers adults 55 and older a chance to make music. Performances are free with donations welcome and rehearsals held at United Methodist Church in Minetto.
