The Eagle postpones the Lafayette county School Edition to Oct 27 and will publish 16 pages with school pictures and writeups. About two thousand extra copies will be printed and distributed countywide. Advertisers must submit copy by Tuesday noon and forms close Wednesday morning.

C H S Senior Class Possum Hunt
Rev and Mrs J A Christian with the Oxford High Senior Class and guests drove to Fair View Monday evening for a possum hunt. They failed to find the dogs with coon-hunting owners, but a possum was finally bagged and a midnight feast followed with weenies marshmallows and sandwiches. Moody Calloway was thanked for organizing the hunt.

Hunter Club Formed by University Girls Hosts Luncheon
The University Girls organized The Hunter Club at Mrs. Hunters home in Oxford. They hosted a luncheon for new member Miss Marie Clark and her guests Mrs. Clark and Mr. Charles Borum. Fortunes Halloween games and music from Mr. Borum provided lively entertainment.

At Meridian the Lafayette County group led in prizes across many divisions. Ethel B. Smith of Beat 3 won 75 dollars and earlier sweepstakes at Jackson State Fair. Julia Wooten led in canning events and Pauline Harris accrued multiple 1st places in poultry and household arts. Manley Leavell Died in Denver October 19
The sad intelligence of Mr. Manley Leavell cousin of Mr. Landrum Leavell was received here this morning. He died in Denver Colorado on Wednesday October 19. Will Leavell will leave Denver with the deceased body and bring it here for burial. The body is expected to reach Oxford Friday.

Residents report possum hunting gaining popularity in Oxford as a group led by Wiley, King, Jones, Hipp and Knight goes out with hounds and horns. They bag two possums and hint at future hunts while inviting women to form a club and hold a banquet.
