Senator Knox Falls Dead in Washington

Senator Philander Chase Knox of Pennsylvania and former secretary of state under Taft died suddenly at 6 30 p m at his Washington home. He was stricken with paralysis after descending the stairs to the dining room for dinner and died fifteen minutes later without regaining consciousness. Mrs Knox and secretary W F Martin were near him and aided him while Dr Samuel Adams was summoned but could not save him.
