Run Over by Auto on North Street
R. Eades driving a ped dling wagon on North street Saturday stepped in front of a passing Ford car and was struck. The vehicle passed over him and pinned him to the street with its front axle. He was taken to a physician uptown, treated for a head wound and body bruises, and returned home on University Avenue.

Car crashes through Cobbs store in downtown crash
A Buick driven by a hotel porter plowed into Cobbs auto store and crashed through closed glass doors. The car mounted the sidewalk and collided with another vehicle inside the showroom causing extensive damage to the car and building. Nearby merchants felt the shake and rushed outside.

Halloween Activities Delighted Junior League Members
The Junior League enjoyed Halloween at Mrs. Lee Lipscomb’s home on Friday evening. Activities included the usual Halloween games and refreshments of spice cakes lemonade popcorn and apples were served.

Halloween Party at Methodist Church Parlor
The Epworth League entertained about twenty guests at the Methodist Church parlor Tuesday evening. Ghost stories and ghostly apparitions set a Halloween spirit with games and songs. Refreshments were sandwiches and punch. A witch with a broomstick told fortunes, and guests left with happy hearts awaiting next Halloween.
