Lafayette county shines at fairs with large prize haul

At the Tri-State Fair Lafayette County won 180 in cash prizes on a composite exhibit. At Meridian Fair Lafayette home demonstration products earned many honors including first premiums for vinegars preserves jars and several baskets and pickles with numerous individuals named among awardees.

Terracing farms and terracing could protect soil fertility, boost production, and unlock loan access from the Federal Land Bank. A county agent program and wider terracing could dramatically raise land value and income over ten years.

Attendees included Mrs J C Hardy and Mr James Hard, and church leaders preached in Tupelo and Nesbit events scheduled for late October.

Mason and Black Wed at Baptist Parsonage

Holly Springs Mississippi October 23 Mr L O Mason of Corinth and Miss Eula Belle Black of Oxford were united in marriage at the Baptist parsonage Saturday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Rev E L Weston pastor of the Baptist Church.

Cotton experts in Mississippi form national cooperative leadership

Mississippi spokesmen announce a statewide drive to organize the Cotton Marketing Association with a diverse slate of leaders from Arkansas to Alabama.
