Theodora on Large Italian Production in Rome
Unione Cinematografica Italiana staged Theodora directed by Ambrosio with Rita Jolivet as empress. The project used 100,000 square meters hillside near Rome, cost over 3,000,000 lire, and built 20 grand sets designed by Armando Brasini. Over 30,000 costumes, 500,000 feet of film, and a government cavalry liaison supported the massive Hippodrome spectacle.
