Stricken financier Lee Baggett Sr. gravely ill after stroke

Prominent Oxford financier and head of Oxford Gin Co and Oxford Ice and Bottling Works, Lee Baggett Sr., suffered a stroke between 12 and 1 am. His left side is paralyzed and he lies unconscious at 11 am Thursday. A longtime city figure active in civic causes, church, banking, and politics, he is expected to be cared for by a grieving community. His son, Capt. Lee Baggett Jr., served in World War I.
