Seven Die In Langley Ambulance Plane Crash
Washington reports an official inquiry into a Curtis Eagle ambulance plane crash near Indian Head Maryland during a storm. Seven died including five army officers Lieut Col Archie Miller Lieut Stanley Ames Lieut Cleveland McDermott Lieut John Pennewill and two civilians Maurice Connolly and A G Batchelder. The aircraft returning from Langley to Washington was struck by a violent electrical storm at about 100 miles per hour. The wreckage left seven men dead grouped together with the engine tearing through the cabin.

Man is Shot at Window in Texarkana Tragedy
Texarkana Arkansas May 31 a 35 year old clothing salesman Claude A Dunagan was shot and killed by a 14 year old girl who said he appeared at her bedroom window as she prepared for bed. She fired once after warning him to flee. Dunagan died before an ambulance arrived. Police investigated but did not arrest.

Shout saves girl as auto plunges from cliff
Newcastle Kentucky May 30 Burt L Douthit a wealthy merchant shouted to his 12 year old daughter Mary Lawrence to jump when steering gear failed on a narrow cliff road The auto plunged 50 feet to the river below as the girl escaped unharmed and the father was killed The girl ran a mile to warn her mother sister and great uncle who summoned help.
