A Mississippi advocate calls for forming a $20 000 chartered Oxford canning company to process cabbage beans peas strawberries grapes and more. The plan aims to hire 50–100 workers, pay stockholders dividends, and secure markets with contracts, promoting trucking and diversified agriculture to replace cotton profits.
Advertisement urges readers to obtain Tanlac from Rowland Drug Co highlighting its wonder and availability at the local drug store.
Classified appeal from The Oxford Eagle seeking a complete copy of the October 15 1921 issue. Readers are asked to mail nine copies to Box 847 Oxford Mississippi and will receive twenty five cents per copy upon receipt.
The Hermaean Literary Society marks its anniversary with a morning session at 10 o clock in the Chapel building on Wednesday February 22. In the evening at 7 30 p m the Hermaean Freshman oratorical contest will be held. All are invited to attend both sessions.
The Friday University Ball at Gordon Hall drew about seventy five couples from Oxford and nearby Mississippi towns. An out of town band played music as ladies in latest styles danced with gallant gentlemen and Valentine decorations adorned the rooms. Guests Adolf, Lesselle, Price, Curd, West, and Doxey joined from Holly Springs.
The first snow of the season began falling about 4 am and by 6 am covered streets and housetops to over an inch. A cold rain persisted Tuesday night as temperatures dropped. Wednesday morning children walked to school enjoying the wintery scene. it is the first noticeable snow in over two years.
Dr and Mrs Alfred Hume hosted a Monday dinner in honor of their daughter Myra Hume. Attending were Mr Jones Mr Scott Mr Prados Mr Bryan and Miss Martha Buffaloe. The rooms were tastefully decorated and a delightful course dinner was served while guests wished Miss Hume many happy returns.
The union joins Miss Truie Ham of Sidney Arkansas and Rev Marvin Sulivan in a Sunday ceremony at her Sydney home. Both had formed ties in local life with Miss Ham previously employed at the Golden Rule Store. They now reside at the Oxford Hotel in this city.
Miss Feral Frazier and W. N. Douglas were married Saturday evening in the Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. A. Christian. Both are prominent Oxford young people and the union surprised many friends. Several Oxford residents, including Mrs. John Harkins and Hon. H. T. Smith, are on the sick list this week.
Mr. F. G Calloway sold a 100 acre farm adjoining his Fairview place to Mr. C. L. Butler of Memphis. The Butlers will occupy the small house at the old brick yard.
Mr. D C Black has sold his newly completed house to Mrs. Craig of New Albany and will move in after Sept 1. He also bought a lot on Cemetery Street and plans to build this summer.

Mrs. Ada Mitchell, wife of Rev. B. G. Mitchell of South Street Presbyterian, died Saturday night February 11 1922 at the Manse on South Street after a several week illness. She is survived by her husband a son Earl J. of New York City and three daughters Mrs. R. M. Warren of Birmingham Ala Rubie and Mal Mitchell of this city. The remains were sent to Kenzie Tenn for burial Sunday afternoon. The Eagle offers condolences to the bereaved family.
The Browning Club met at Mrs. Sultan's home for an afternoon session presided by Mrs. Longest. Members discussed the Mississippi Legislature bill on the State Geological Department and endorsed opposition, pledging $5 to the Wilson Foundation. A one act skit themed Where but in America entertained, with Valentine cards, fruit and cakes served, and violet bouquets presented. Musical interludes featured Mrs. Glenn and Mary Vick Rowland, with guests including Myra Bem Price and P. A. Hutchinson Brown. Tanlac was advertised at Rowland Drugs Store.
