Ottawa High roof decking upgrade adds 1.1 million to bond plan
Ottawa High School faces disintegrating roof deck sections leading to a switch from gypsum board to welded metal decking. The Aug. 21 school board vote added 1.15 million to the OHS contingency to cover metal decking, insulation, and drainage needs, part of the district bond project now about halfway complete. The district notes a remaining contingency of roughly 1.7 to 1.8 million for OHS and emphasizes ongoing, right-first-time work across Sunflower and Lincoln campuses as facilities improve under superintendent Jeanne Stroh.
