Topeka boy 4 drowns in pool during visit
Ethan C. Volz of Topeka, 4, drowned in a private pool at a home he was visiting in USWORTH. He was found at the bottom of a 9 foot deep pool and pronounced dead about an hour after emergency treatment. Ellsworth police declined comment.

Huddlestun beneficiary of transplant
Ex-Henry Huddlestun, former Central Heights superintendent, received a kidney transplant last week at St Luke's Hospital. He was registered with the organ bank on August 28 and called two days later with a match. The operation was a success and he remains in good condition. He had been on home dialysis for months awaiting a kidney. Huddlestun, who has an inherited kidney condition, is expected to return home after a brief recovery with plans to resume work soon.
