Ned Hiatt’s Country Sales honored at Dealer Seminar Las Vegas

Ned and Joyce Hiatt of Lyndon Middlebury Ind received a 1995 two million dollar round table award and a 20 year anniversary award from Coachmen Recreational Vehicle Company at the annual Dealer Seminar and New Model Introduction in Las Vegas. The dealership earned engraved walnut plaques for reaching two million in sales and the milestone. Also noted, Karren D. Jones of Ottawa Family Physicians advances as a nominee in ACMPE, the Medical Group Management Association sister organization, with continuing education and exams guiding certification. Southview Homecare named Judith James nursing supervisor at Ottawa office, replacing Marcella Daugharthy who moves to PRN. James, a former Kansas Institute head nurse, is a Bob Jones University graduate. she and her daughter Christina live in Ottawa. Southview operates in six Kansas counties: Franklin, Anderson, Linn, Douglas, Miami and Johnson.

County approves amended budget in Anderson County

Anderson County commissioners adopted an amended budget transferring 2,806 mills from hospital maintenance to the general fund to aid the hospital or other needs. The hearing drew about 11 attendees with concerns over taxes and potential sales tax changes. Community events and local notes followed, including MS 150 planning, recycling drives, 4-H fair prep, and Welda Church Fair activities.

River Run and Sunflower Plaza Poker Events This Saturday

Organizers plan a ninth River Run and Sunflower Plaza with a poker run awarding prizes for best hands and a poker walk downtown. River run features 28 trophy classes from Best Custom Truck Pre '49 to Best Corvette with two trophies per class, cash awards, and dash plaques for the first 400 entrants.
