Restored stoves drive Paxico antique business surge
Nostalgia and rising fuel costs spark renewed interest in potbellied stoves and 1930s to 1950s gas ranges. Steve Hund Jr. bought a 1971 stove for 15 dollars and turned a sideline into Mill Creek Antiques in Paxico. He restores and sells stoves across the U S, rents props, and recalls a simpler era as demand grows. Once scarce and overlooked, these heirloom pieces now grace kitchens and magazines, fueling a niche economy.
