Wellsville rezoning decision moves to city council vote

The Wellsville City Council will meet October 30 at City Hall to decide on rezoning north of Wellsville Market. A super majority is needed to reverse the planning commission. Developer Henizick Oliver Real Estate outlined a 9,000 square foot building with 30 parking spaces and 13 hourly cars, no Chilton Avenue access, and hours from 9 a.m. to 8 or 9 p.m. The plan includes two toilets, two front lights, a 36 foot driveway, a 6 foot wooden privacy fence, and planted trees to shield neighbors. Residents fear bright lights and traffic will lower home values and worsen sewer problems. Retail leakage studies showed Wells ville loses spendable money to outside areas, but council members Justin Allen and Jeff Seymour plan to attend the vote.
