Hill honored for work with children at state conference
Natalie Hill of the Franklin County Mental Health Clinic received an award for outstanding leadership in expanding mental health services for Kansas children and families at the Keys for Networking Inc. conference in Hutchinson. The event promoted new treatment and service programs for severely emotionally disturbed children. Airman Amy R. Ohlmeier and Pvt. Thomas J. Haynoski completed basic training at Lackland AFB and Fort Leonard Wood, respectively. Homecoming candidates named at Central Heights and Williamsburg high schools include multiple seniors from each, with Wellsville and Pomona students earning homecoming titles recently.

North Ottawa rail rides invite autumn colors this weekend
The Midland Railway offers hourly train rides from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday behind the Ottawa VFW post, with adult tickets at 5 and children at 2.50. Several art exhibits continue at the Arts Center Ottawa Library and hospital, plus university and college events with ticketed shows and free lectures.

Clinton signs up for benefit two mile run in Kansas City
In Kansas City Missouri Democratic nominee Bill Clinton prepared for Sundays St Louis debate and joined a private charity run. The two mile fundraiser supports 17 month old Matthew Tucker of Kansas City who has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Clinton rested his voice due to hoarseness and spoke briefly while signing up for the event.

No Fly Zone Imposed by U N Over Bosnia
